Carl specialises in Accessibility of technology and software applications in particularly on mobile.
We live in an ever changing world where technology is becoming a ubiquitous part of our daily lives.   It is essential that websites, applications and other technology is accessibility to people with disabilities in particular the blind or vision impaired.  Carl writes about accessibility topics in his blog Accessible Accessibility.
He is also a developer with expertise in Web applications as well as desktop apps. His speciality is mobile development with both Android and IOS in particular accessible applications. He currently consults on accessible applications for the blind and vision impaired. Leveraging his lived experience off vision impairment to assist developer and designers with building accessible applications.

Carl has spent his entire childhood and adult life adapting to low vision, this is the where his passion for accessibility has come from.   Currently he is a contract software tester with Assurity Consulting and a volunteer technology and accessibility mentor and trainer at the Blind Foundation based in Wellington.
Cooking and baking is another one of Carl’s passions, he has completed Professional Cookery and Patisserie course through Wellington Institute of Technology and has worked in a wide range of roles with in the hospitality industry throughout Wellington.
Carl has been involved in Scouting since 1998, starting the United States and joining Scouts NZ when he returned home in 2002.   He is a holder of the Queens Scout Awards and Gold duke of Edinburgh awards received in 2009.
He has a bachelor of Information from Wellington Institute of Technology.
